Jacob Maddox is a midfielder who formerly played for Chelsea.
Jacob joined Chelsea as a 14 year-old in 2013, moving from Bristol City in a highly-publicised transfer.
Jacob made his Under-18 debut in April 2014 and added to that with a handful of appearances as an Under-16 before exploding onto the scene as a first-year scholar. Making a season-high 44 appearances in 2015-16 he became an integral force in winning both the UEFA Youth League and FA Youth Cup, scoring and creating goals and putting in a series of mature performances in an attacking midfield role. Unsurprisingly, Under-21 football quickly followed, as did a first goal at that level away to Reading.
2016-17 saw him provide more of the same, albeit slightly under the radar as his consistently impressive level of performance was often eclipsed by a more dynamic outing from any number of team-mates. His performances in central midfield for the Under-18s proved crucial in adding another FA Youth Cup winners' medal to his collection, and he featured in half of the Development Squad fixtures in a bridge year before moving up full-time for 2017-18.
A loan to Cheltenham gave him a good start in the senior game but a follow-up stint at Tranmere did not go so well. He spent the second half of the 2019-20 season with Southampton, making one unused Premier League substitute appearance, before joining Vitória SC on a four-year deal in August 2020.
Jacob has represented England up to Under-19 level.
