The 1955 FA Charity Shield was the 33rd edition of the annual match between the English champions and FA Cup winners. It was Chelsea's first appearance in the showpiece event. The match was played at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge ground on 14 September 1955. Chelsea were English champions, while Newcastle United had won the FA Cup the previous season.

Chelsea won the match 3-0, thanks to second-half goals from Roy Bentley and Frank Blunstone, following an own goal from Alf McMichael.
