Michael Earl Glenis McDonald Gilkes (born 20 July 1965 in Hackney, London) is former midfielder who made two substitute appearances for Chelsea while on loan from Reading; the club with which he is most associated. He was also a Barbados international.

Reading

A left winger or left-sided midfielder, Gilkes played for Reading for the majority of his career, making over 400 appearances for the Royals between 1984 and 1997, when he was sold to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Chelsea loan

Gilkes was loaned to Chelsea in the latter half of the 1991-92 season, and made two substitute appearances for the club. [1]
