Tariq joined Chelsea as an Under-8.
Chelsea career
Tariq made his Under-18 debut in early 2016 whilst still an Under-16. With a penchant for the spectacular, he chipped in with eight goals during his first year as a scholar and started both legs of the FA Youth Cup Final en route to the Under-18s securing a domestic treble. An England debut at Under-18 level capped a memorable season.
He graduated to the Development Squad in 2018-19 and was a regular part of the squad, making further progress in 2019-20 after signing a new contract with the club, despite missing three months through injury.
International
Tariq is eligible to represent both England and Nigeria and received his first England call-up at Under-18 level in late 2016.
