The Football Association Challenge Cup, commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout cup competition in English football, run by and named after the Football Association. The FA Cup was first held in 1871-72, and is the oldest association football competition in the world.

Chelsea first appeared in an FA Cup Final in 1915, when they lost to Sheffield United, and have reached the final on eleven occasions in total; winning the competition seven times. The first victory came in a replayed final in 1970 against Leeds United, and the most recent was in 2012, when the Blues beat Liverpool 2-1 at Wembley Stadium. Chelsea were the last team to win the FA Cup at the old Wembley, in 2000, and the first to win the final at the new, in 2007. In addition, Chelsea players hold notable FA Cup records. Didier Drogba scored in four finals (2007, 2009, 2010 and 2012), the only player to do so, and Ashley Cole has more FA Cup-winners medals than any player in history, with seven; four of which he won at Chelsea.
