Before Chelsea

Born in Reading in August 2004, Jamie Gittens began his youth career at Caversham Trents before moving to Reading. He later had a spell in Chelsea’s youth setup, then joined Manchester City’s academy in 2018. In 2020, he transferred to Borussia Dortmund, where he advanced through their system. His first-team breakthrough began in the 2021–22 season, and across three seasons he made 76 Bundesliga appearances, scoring 12 goals and becoming known for his pace, dribbling, and finishing in wide areas.
